Membership Committee

Each Chapter must establish a Membership Committee, which should always have an odd number of Members, including the Vice President. The Membership Committee’s term aligns with that of the Leadership Team. The Vice President chairs the Membership Committee and serves as a voting Member. All Membership Committee Members and Membership Committee Reserve candidates are required to attend the Leadership Conference and the March Best Ideas Conference.

Applicant Interview & Expectations

The following list contains the questions we ask during our online video interviews with prospective Members. These questions are designed to help us understand how well applicants align with our Chapter’s values and needs.

Members Changing Chapters

The strength of BNI® is in the relationships that we build. Those relationships take time and commitment to one another to build and maintain. When someone joins a Chapter, they commit to the Chapter and its Members. That commitment should be taken very seriously both by the Membership Committee and the applicant.

Evaluating Member Participation

Renewal Application Review Process

Before accepting or denying a Member’s renewal, the Membership Committee must follow Evaluating Member Participation (see previous page). This will allow the Membership Committee the opportunity to evaluate whether or not the renewing Member is a positive, supportive, contributing Member to the Chapter and its Members.
