To be on the Leadership Team, the Vice President must read and sign the BNI® Leadership Team Agreement before taking the position. Each Member of the Leadership Team is required to attend Leadership Team Training every 6 months. In addition, role-specific training must be completed through the BNI Tampa Portal at portal.bnitampa.com, located under the 'Lifelong Learning' section.
General Expectations
Be a good, energetic, responsible leader. Ability to hold Members accountable for their commitments in a supportive way – Good manager/communicator.
Display a positive, supportive, and professional attitude at all times.
Commit to fulfilling the Vice Presidential duties from October 1 through September 30.
Must have a minimum of THREE months of BNI® Membership remaining as of October 1 to hold the position. (For a new leadership term beginning October 1, the membership due date must be January 1 or later. If your renewal date is December 1 or prior, you must renew your membership.)
BNI® Chapter Expectations
Arrive at meetings 15 minutes before Open Networking to set up the room, greet visitors and ensure that the meeting effectively starts on time.
Attend the Monthly Chapter Success Meetings to discuss non-agenda items, as outlined in the Chapter Success Meeting Report, outside of the regular meeting. Upload the Chapter Success Meeting Report before the end of each month at https://portal.bnitampa.com.
Conduct brief weekly Membership Committee check-ins after each meeting to review applications in progress, address immediate Member issues and confirm attendance.
Chairs and manages the Membership Committee, including working with the MC to develop and implement the GP101 in October and April.
Ensure that the Membership Committee consists of trained Membership Committee Members at all times.
Effectively manage and be an active voting Member of the Membership Committee.
Ensure four Membership Committee Specialists are fulfilling their responsibilities. If responsibilities are not being fulfilled, the Vice President is responsible for completing the tasks. Please see the respective sections for the specific responsibilities of each Specialist:
Quality Assurance Specialist
Member Engagement Specialist
Community Builder Specialist
Member Relations Specialist
Enter attendance and verify referrals, visitors, One-to-Ones, Thank You for Closed Business, and Chapter Education Unit records in BNI Connect® the same day as the Chapter meeting and effectively communicate these statistics to the Leadership Team and Chapter Members via the Vice Presidents Report.
Using data from BNI Connect®, update the Chapter Goal Boards and ensure they arrive at the Chapter Meeting every week for display.
Communication Expectations
Have E-mail, a Google Account, WhatsApp (phone app), Excel/Word, and scanning capabilities.
Respond to communication from the Region Team and the BNI® Region Office promptly.
Assist the President in providing leadership, motivation, direction, and coaching as required by Chapter needs.
Communicate and cooperate with the Chapter President, Region Team, and the BNI® Region Office in their pursuit to improve and maintain the quality of your Chapter.
Chapter Success Expectations
Sign the BNI® Leadership Agreement.
Attend BNI Tampa Annual Summit & March BEST IDEAS Conference.
Attend Leadership Success Meetings with Vice Presidents from every Chapter in the Region.
Conduct One-to-Ones with New Members as part of the Passport to Success Mentor Program.
